The Magical Boy From Mombasa!

Now nestled in Southampton deep in the UK. This nearly 14 year old

dances, smiles,

sings,  smiles, writes his own music and oh, yes. I nearly forgot.

He smiles.

With a personality that could bring laughter at a wake Connor Daniel eagerly takes the stage. He is the type of person that you know is around even if he is in the line behind you. Just that aura of happiness that tickles the back of your neck when he is there. His very presence fosters the belief that something good is about to happen.

And if you are anywhere near a stage, it usually does.

The youngest of three boys he loves his family first and foremost. His mother Rosemarie and father Simon support him in his endeavors and always attend his competitions. They have raised their kids to be well mannered, loving and compassionate. I wish they taught classes to other parents. We would have a lot less strife in our world.

Mom says he has always had the most beautiful eyes. “People used to stop us when he was a baby because his eyes against his golden skin was just so pretty.”

Yes Connor, she said “pretty” and I’m not takin’ it back. Live with it kid. You will always be her baby.

Connor takes voice lessons and dance lessons focusing on funkstyles. Something called poppin, lockin, tutts, waving, krump and boogaloo. Sorry I do voice, that sounds sorta like an Eddie Murphy movie exploded. All I know is when he is on stage and fired up he is incredible. With a voice that is changing he still manages to get it out in a style only Connor Daniel can create.

And it must be working! Look even Jay Sean goes for a little lens time squeezing in there with Connor for a photo-op.

Hey! Quality Creates it's own demand.

He loves his half Mombasa heritage and although absent from the land he loves, he is never far from it in his heart. He dreams of becoming a serious artist and signed to a label then taking his magic and turning it towards bettering the land and the people he loves so much. You can hear his heart shift gears whenever he speaks of it.

He dreams of helping his other homeland to become self sufficient. To build schools and to better the economy. Personally I think he can do it. He is driven by his passion and guided by his love for the people.

And the seafood. It is said that all you can eat seafood places post guards to watch for him so they can flip the closed sign before he eats them out of business. I called around the UK and found one place that equated his appetite for seafood to that of a killer whale. Somehow I think that Mombasa asked him to leave because he ate all the seafood.

Me, I’m on a seefood diet too. I see food I eat it.

But despite the appetite he stays slim and trim dancing it away poppin, struttin, tuttin and boogalooing. Boogalooing? I might have to google a couple of these. But I know that his moves are fluid skilled and purposeful.

If there was one person on the planet that could effect change in Mombassa, then I have no doubt it would be Connor Daniel.

When asked about a significant other, he said, “Hey, I’m only 13!” So I guess that means applications are being taken. But take it from me, if you are interested in that smile, those slate gray eyes or those perfect cupid’s bow lips, points are given for having ties to a seafood restaurant!

Anyway you look at it. Connor Daniel is a super star and will be changing the world as we know it. Personally, after working with Connor and his parents, I’d be glad to put him in charge.

Ryan John Cregan

A British Phoenix,

Almost Literally.

Ryan John Cregan
Born 03 July, 1996

Born in Blackpool, Lancashire England, this Blue eyed 5’2″ Smiling young man will steal your heart with his beautiful voice.

Ryan started his singing in earnest when he was just seven years old. His motivation then was to bring a smile to his mother’s face. It’s something he needed to do often.

You see Ryan and his family traveled sometimes dealing in Antiques and as such would attend fairs where they could buy and sell their wares. Ryan would accompany them and got to meet a lot of people. All of which became friends as Ryan’s nature knows no other existence. One weekend while they were away at one such antique fair, Ryan’s mother got a telephone call from one of her neighbors. Disaster had struck.

Their home had been burglarized and to hide any evidence they tried to hide their trail by setting fire to their home. They had even poured gasoline on Ryan’s bed to start the blaze. They had lost everything. Nothing was left. No pictures, no clothing, no reminiscent baby shoes or first rattle. It was all gone. They didn’t even have ID’s so they could prove who they were to get assistance. They were left standing on the street.

They survived the ordeal but it was an uphill climb. Tracey, Ryan’s mom would often fall into periods of deep depression. Ryan seeing his mother’s distress would sing to make her smile. And smile she did. And out of the ashes of this tragedy blossomed a truly beautiful voice and a very compassionate and hard working young man.

Tracey saw that he really enjoyed singing. It became apparent when she noticed that he always had a song on his lips, a tune playing in his head and he even sang in his sleep. So they found Ryan a vocal coach and he was a natural. He then branched out to do theater and again his natural abilities and stage presence took over. He has been made part of the family in the local theater and is well loved and supported in all that he does. Ryan was also entered in Idol 2008 where he took fifth place. Of course if I had been the judge it might have been a different verdict.

His goal is to act and perhaps entertain in film. An aspiration I am sure he will attain. He works hard at his craft and keeps a level head about him. A combination that, when coupled with talent produces world renown names. You know, those actors who are first on the lips of almost every person on the planet.

Ryan dances as well and is a lively active young man who always has a full plate before him and he loves every minute of it. He volunteers at least once a month at the church and does charity events when ever asked and his schedule permits. The larger the audience the better he likes the venue and his immediate desire is to sing at the open of a football game at Wembly Stadium. Of course I told him they don’t play foot ball there but he might be able to sing a tune before a soccer match that occurs occasionally.

Ryan sang at Preston football last year in front of 12,000 people but nothing was said as to whether or not it helped the team any, to win. Of course I told him that if the ball is round it isn’t really football. Seems when I said it you could hear crickets for the next few minutes.

All in all, this little 5’2″ powerhouse will be around for a long time to come. Ryan’s voice is changing now and it sounds like it is settling nicely. We’ll miss his treble brilliance but his new voice is sounding like it will be just as spectacular. Listen to the video below and judge for yourself. I think his new voice is turning out to be awesome.

Bugsy Malone, a.k.a. Jordan Jansen

Bugsy Malone a.k.a. Jordan Jansen

The Stage is spiked, the lights are focused, the sound is tweaked just right.

Jordan Jansen not only looks the part but the little Rapscallion is ready to play the part. He has his lines well memorized and is ready to deliver them properly. What’s missing?

Nothing, except a bit of a Bronx accent which should be interestin’ coming from the 10 year old Aussie who says that “I” sound weird with my American accent. We’ll have to wait and see. But for now it is rehearsals and then more rehearsals until he wakes up wanting to know where his “Gats” at.

Jordan Jansen as Bugsy Malone

This just in. Jordan Jansen has Landed the part as Busy Malone.

Jordan Jansen

I Guess that makes him my little Ganster buddy.

And here’s the best part. Sources tell me he has to take accent lessons so he can learn to talk correctly. Like an American! Great, now the tables are turned and I can tell him that he sounds funny.

I can’t wait for the pictures and the reviews and oh hey there Mom, better get some more tape for that video camera.

I can just imagine Jordan in a Dark Blue pinstripe zoot suit with a white Fedora and matching spats. Top that off with a Tommy Gun and you’ve got Jordan Malone. Or is that Bugsy Jansen?

Check back for show dates.

Congratulations Jordan! Way to GO!

What a pleasant surprise! The producers read my article!

Louis-Alexander Desiré - Bel Canto Boy

Newly Released August 2008

A stunning vocal extravaganza showcasing the brilliance of Louis-Alexander Desire to the incredible music of the famed piano prodigy, Simon Goodman.

Carefully guided and trained in the Bel Canto style by Maestro Bernard d’Abrera who continues to train Louis in the style of the ancients. Although the definition is gray to most, it certainly isn’t to Maestro Bernard d’Abrera who describes it as creating a pillar of sound before the soloist using the diaphragm of the lungs rather than the throaty tin sound of the mouth or throat. And when done properly, the Bel Canto style appears to be done effortlessly.

I can certainly tell you that Louis has mastered this sound and he certainly makes it sound pure without effort. I also know however that he trains daily and trains with a proficiency, that only come with experience and the proper tutelage.

This brilliant compilation of songs from various composers ranges in time from the 1500’s through today showing that the distinctive Bel Canto form works with many styles of music and is in fact timeless in its ability to add beauty and depth to any song of substance.

This CD has sixteen tracks of some of the most beautiful Bel Canto voice ever performed and I don’t think the songs listed are that makes it beautiful. I think that can only be credited to the talents and vocal fortitude of Louis-Alexander Desire.

Louis just thirteen last May, is in vocal prime and shows no signs of his voice breaking. He is getting ready for the release of Vox Angeli’ second CD. Hopefully we will see at least one more, full solo CD by Louis in the Treble range. When you have a treble with such extraordinary talent you want to get every not and preserve it for posterity. This CD set a whole new bar of achievement.

Like many, I wait patiently for the second Vox Angeli CD to be released.

However, in the way of treble soloist CD’s, I have not been this impressed since Louis-Alexander Desiré produced his “Forgotten Favorites” CD.

Forgotten Favorites

I fully expect that this one will win a Trebby Award this year.

You may purchase his New Bel Canto CD by emailing and may pay via PayPal if you are in the US. I would suggest that you get a copy of theis extremely rare voice. This CD is destined to become a collectors prize.
